Hey dolls, hope y’all had a great weekend. So I’ve been on the search for a really good primer and found this. In case you don’t keep up with the latest trends over on “the youtubes,” you may not know about this one. I believe this all started with this video by NickiTutorials (she is credited with this discovery), but I actually first heard about it after watching one particular makeup video on youtube ( can’t remember the name exactly).

Nivea Men Sensitive After Shave Balm is now widely used by many makeup lovers as…face primer/ moisturizer. Yes, the stuff you put on your skin before you apply your makeup. Now, if you look at the ingredients (which you’ll see in a second), the second ingredient is glycerin, which is in just about every face primer on the market. I wanted to give this a try because It says ‘No alcohol’, I’m talking about isopropyl alcohol, SD alcohol, denatured alcohol, ethyl alcohol, and rubbing alcohol, which can have a drying effect on certain skin types–especially my own). I’m tired of using chemical based products.

First thing when I got to the store (Health plus), I checked was the ingredient list. Well, already checked it couple of times on intetnet 😂. I just needed to be very sure it is safe enough for my skin. I bought this for #2,600, but you can get it lesser at other pharmacy & stores.

It is enriched with Chamomile and Hamamelis:
– Instantly soothes skin irritation

–Enhance skin’s condition over time
– Alleviates skin redness and dryness
– Recovers and comforts the skin.

Aqua, Glycerin, Isopropyl Palmitate, Chamonile Recutita Flower Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Hamamelis Virginiana Bark/Leaf Extract, Maltodextrin, Tapioca Starch, Triceteareth-4, Phosphate, Sodium Carbomer, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Phenoxyethanol, Piroctone Olamine, Parfum.

I use this to moisturize/prime my face after toning before applying foundation.

It does a decent job of keeping my makeup intact for a few hours (let’s say 5-6 hours). Then again, it depends on the weather, It stays longer in a cold/rainy weather.
Additionally, I love that it doesn’t sit on my skin. It also doesn’t have a greasy finish which makes it good as a hydrating primer. Also, a little goes a long way. For my no-makeup look, I use a little with my foundation and I’m good to go. It gives me the right amount of glow and coverage.
I’m still on my first bottle but I’ll repurchase until the next best thing comes along.
Dry skinned ladies, you need to get this. Thank me later 😙😙
